Universal Explorer is similar to Windows Explorer file manager, with a few tweaks. With Universal Explorer, you can view and edit files and images all within the same Explorer window.
Talk about a time saver! With a duel tree-flow navigational system, copying, moving, and pasting files can be accomplished in no time.

Does Windows File Manager have all the tools you need to manage your files? If not, Universal Explorer may be just the ticket. This powerhouse utility could use additional configuration options but brings a wealth of tools to the table. The first standout feature you're bound to notice is the substantial file viewer pane. Popular graphics formats, text files, HTML files (including source), ZIP archives, spreadsheets, MS Office documents, and multimedia files are supported.

Universal Explorer reviewed by Nick Smith.

Universal Explorer is an aptly named file management application. In addition to the standard features you'd find in Explorer, this utility most notably provides a built-in file viewer. Rather than taking the time to load multiple applications to see files, they appear from within Universal Explorer's interface. The viewer supports a large number of formats, enabling you to load text-based documents (including Word and Excel files), HTML, EXEs and multimedia. In most cases, you'll be able to edit these files right on the spot.

Universal Explorer packs a boatload of functions, but its well designed interface certainly will not overwhelm you. Features are concisely organized into menus and toolbars.

Universal Explorer is a powerful Windows Explorer replacement, but with the same look 'n feel....Try Universal Explorer for yourself and see if it isn't a better file manager than Explorer will ever be.

We were extremely impressed, we think that you will be too.

Universal Explorer reviewed by David Burton

Replace Windows Explorer and several other programs with this all-in-one utility.

I'm generally wary of programs that are designed to do "everything." Too often what this means is that, yes, they perform a lot of functions, but they rarely do any of them as well as a program designed specifically for the purpose. Or they're often programs that have been around awhile, and the developer just keeps tacking on functions until the original design (and usefulness) of the program is left far behind.

Universal Explorer file manager doesn't fall into either of these categories for the "all-in-one" program. Everything is so well integrated that it seems designed from the ground up to accomplish its self-proclaimed task of giving you a better, more complete replacement for the standard Windows Explorer. It resembles Windows Explorer superficially -- you'll find the layout of the program instantly recognizable and comfortable. But after you use it for a while you'll find it will not only more than adequately replace Explorer, but a slew of other programs you probably use frequently.

About Shareware

Universal Explorer (UE) is billed as a powerful replacement for Windows Explorer. At first glance, I though, "Why do I need to replace it in the first place?". Then I started looking at some of the features:
Multiple instances of UE in one window, Imbedded file editing (no need to open other apps), Archive management (open and create zip files) ....
