Automater
The
Automater is designed to make ListMotor
work automatically, executing the list management tasks one
after another without your in-between assistance.
To turn a raw text
file into the e-mail addresses list ready to mailing the following
sequence of tasks is usually used:
1.
To extract new e-mails from a raw text file, to list them alphabetically
one-per-line and to remove duplicates you use the Cleaner
2.
To add the new e-mails to your Master e-mails list and keep the Master
sorted and de-duped you take the Cleaner’s
output file and run it through the Merger
together with your Master list
3.
To mail only certain kinds of e-mails this time (according to some
criteria – e. g. “only AOL e-mails” or “all but .info e-mails”)
you take the Merger’s output
file and process it with the Filterer
or the Keeper
4.
To remove from your mailing list all addresses whose owners asked you not
to mail them you take the Filterer’s
(Keeper’s)
output file and run it through the Remover
together with your current remove-list
5.
You may need to mail not all the resulting list but only some sample of
it. Then you take the Remover’s
output and use the Sampler.
6.
To speed up the mailing process it’s advised to have your e-mail
addresses sorted by domains. Thus, you take the Sampler’s
output file and run it through the Separator.
7.
To monitor the mail deliverability you may want seed the Separator’s
output file with your own addresses using the Seeder.
8.
To have a breakdown report on your final mailing list you use the Counter
with the Seeder’s output.
9.
If the final e-mail addresses list is too large to process at a time, you
take it and divide into the suitable pieces with the Splitter.
As you can see, the complete process is quite complicated, but all
these actions are really necessary for you to get a proper mailing list
out of a raw text file. To save your time and still ensure the perfect
result we offer you the ListMotor Automater.
It allows you to set up a sequence of ListMotor’s tasks so that
they will run automatically, one after another, waiting for each other’s
completion.
The Automater’s page
contains the list of all ListMotor’s tasks. Check the option next
to the task’s name and this will mean that the task is included into the
processing sequence. The tasks order is predefined and corresponds to the
logical processing sequence, from the Cleaner
(which should certainly be run the first), through the Remover,
Filterer and the others to the
Seeder and the Splitter.
Checking each task’s option you will have the corresponding
task’s settings page opened, so you will be able to select all the modes
and options you need. Please make sure that the input file for each
following task is the same as the output file of the previous task
(including the complete path).
